Howell Packaging Expands Secondary Contract Packaging Capabilities

April, 2011

Howell has invested capital in its Howell Packaging Services division by expanding their print-and-apply labeling capability and adding to existing heat-sealing capacity. Joe Lally, Sales Manager – Pharmaceutical Packaging commented, "The trends in the industry indicate that relabeling jobs are on the rise. Either due to increased regulatory pressure from the FDA, increase in recalls, or because more products are being shipped to the U.S. from Europe or Asia, we have seen more requests to both label and relabel healthcare products."

Howell's investment in additional heat-seal capacity is purely to create efficiencies and flexibility for our customers. "We are constantly striving to improve our productivity and responsiveness; the addition of this new equipment supports that goal," noted Katherine Roehlke, President and CEO.
